DESCRIPTION:
Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn., 30 hour, time, strike and alarm "Franklin" model weight wood movement full round column and carved eagle crest shelf clock, c1830. A similar example can be found in "American Clocks" by Tran Duy Ly, vol. 3, pg. 71.
CONDITION:
Refinished mahogany veneered case with a small repair on the bottom cross strip. Stenciling on the columns has been restored. The mirror is a replacement. The tablet is by Moberg. The original painted dial has turned yellow from a coating of shellac or varnished applied over the original paint. There are also scattered small areas of paint loss that has been inpainted with a color that doesn't quite match. Hands are original. Clean label inside the case. Ht 40"
